Beginning…
We started a series of classes last night for quilting. It was interesting and as always I forgot to take pictures. I thought teaching young kids is demanding, adults can be equally as demanding. Ha Ha!
I let my son Ethan pick out the fabric for the sample. I almost am sorry about that that because I really like the others that picked flowers and such. Ethan picked the racecars.
Beginning Piecing
Basic principles of piecing a quilt top
- 1. Sew 1/4″ seams. Small stitch length to keep the pieces tight.
- 2. Have to have borders around the edge to pull the quilt top together
- 3. Cutting is important! If you pieces are not straight to start with you cannot sew them straight. Be accurate.
- 4. Quilting is a labor of Love!
Basic Square Pattern
Fabric Needed

Hey…class might have been easier if you had required fabric choices in advance…that was the hardest part…really needed help….got five rows done….now to put them all together…Thanks to you Sarah for teaching the class and having the store. This is a long time desire of mine as well as making homemade biscuits…Olivia
