Bunny Bunny

Just had to share this picture. Two weeks ago we had a class to make Easter Bunnies.

Some faired better than other. The soft fur we used to make them made LOTS of teeny tiny pieces and they floated into space. Some of the space was our noses. Achooo!!!

The finished project was well worth the pain and suffering! :)

We used the White Rose Cuddle from Shannon Fabrics and the Wag around Wabbits pattern from Cotton Ginnys. Let me know if you are interested in making some.

I am currently working of the Chicken Dance Table Topper from the Fons and Porters lasest magazine. I will post photos soon.

Some ask…

When I opened my beautifully restore quilt store people asked,”Will you do alterations?”, “Would you fix things?”. I just laughed. These are the jeans my husband wears.

Yes, that is duck tape!

Relay for Life

Some thought it would be nice to flock my yard with the flamingo. It is a fund raiser for the American Caner Society’s Relay for Life. We will relay next Friday night. Can’t wait!

Interesting comment

I had a great comment in the store the other day. I can’t think of one reason why I should not get this piece of fabric. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there any reason why?

I can't think of one!

March Madness Classes

I am not threw with all the project yet. Here are some of them that I finished

Tuesday March 3 at 6:30 or Thursday March 5th at 1:00

You can make a jelly roll bag/tote. I used the Hill Country Spring Jelly Roll because that is the one that Ethan unrolled for me. Thanks!

I don't know why it is like this. Just turn your head!!!
I don

Maybe you can turn your head sideways to view this pic. I don’t know why it is like this.

I seperated the strips into three piles. And there was plenty for three different bags.
This is a very very fun and fast bag to make. Simple and so cute. I have another that I bought from a friend that was made out of John Deere fabric. It is the perfect size for a little diaper bag. This class will be March 18th at 1:00 or 6:30. It should only take two hours.
I also have planned a class for shopping bags. They are made with fruit and vegetable fat quarter and you will looked upon with envy by other shoppers when you carry your things with these.
The last class for this month will be a class for an Easter Bunny. March 31th at 6:30

This is a project I would like a group to start maybe in March. My niece did a great job on this quilt. It seems that there isn’t enough of me to go around and to sew everything that I need to do.This might be why

Cricut

I used my cricut to cut the hearts to go around the valentines throw that I am making. I was so excited that it worked. I ironed the fabric on the wonder under and cut it into 6×12 pieces. Then I used the cricut program to arrange four hearts onto the cutting pad and cliked on cut. It cu the hearts fast. I did enough to go all the way around the quilt in about an hour.  Now I just have to blanket stitch around them. I have a deadline of Sunday to finish because I made plans to quilt it then. I can’t wait.  This is the fun part of owning a store.

Sunday Sunday Sunday

Well I worked hard all day today. I didn’t realize I had put up that many Christmas decorations. But I was glad to put everything away and start new projects.  I started a scalloped edge wall hanging or small throw. I got the idea from two different customers that I had on Friday and Saturday. On Friday the comment was that they had seen a toile throw with scalloped edge out of a Christmas print and it was nice. So that got me excited about the Sweethearts Toile from RJR that I had been admiring for weeks. Then on Saturday, I help another customer pick fabric for the intertwined heart runner and placemat in the Art to Heart Love book.  I could not stop thinking about the hearts.  Then I put the two together. I will make a intertwined heart scalloped edge toile throw for Valentines.  The best of both worlds.

I started it about 4 hours ago. But didn’t go together as quickly as it did in my head. I had to stop because of the boys but will work on it hard tomorrow. I brought home the red for the hearts and I was going to cut them out by hand. But I am thinking about using the cricut tomorrow. I have not tried that but I guess I will later. Check back for the pic of the finished project.

Help!!!!

Filed under: Sewing — Tags: — Sarah Hahn @ 12:30 pm

I want to have a day for finishing or starting a project. There will be no charge for the class/day. You would just come with what you are working on or want to work on and work at the store. It is always fun to see what others are doing and it also inspires you to do something else. It is a great brainstorming technique. I want it to be on a Friday afternoon/night. The probelm is that I can’t think of a catchy name for the sewing bee. Is there any suggestions out there?
